How should the centrifugal fan be handled if it is suspended from use for a long time?

Machines will always have times when they need to be suspended. Therefore, when they are suspended, there are some issues that require our attention and need to be dealt with in accordance with the regulations. For example, how should the centrifugal fan be arranged and placed during the suspension period? There are two situations for the suspension of use:

One is the short-term suspension of use, and the other is the long-term suspension of use. Whether the time is long or short, the fan should first remind everyone to prevent the problem of freezing and cracking.

When the fan is out of use and the ambient temperature is lower than 5 °C, the remaining water in the equipment and pipelines should be drained to avoid freezing and damaging the equipment and pipelines. It’s the same principle as the problem of water pipes freezing and cracking that we may encounter in winter. It would be too careless if failures occur due to the failure to deal with the residual water in a timely manner. Such problems can be avoided. Additionally, if the centrifugal fan is suspended from use for a long time, how should it be handled?

  1. Apply anti-rust oil to the surfaces of bearings and other major components to prevent rusting.
  2. For the fan rotor, about once every half a month, it should be manually rotated by half a turn (that is, 180°). Before rotating, marks should be made at the shaft end so that the point that was originally on the upper side is located on the lower side after the rotor is rotated.
