High-temperature fans are frequently used and play a crucial role in the heat transfer and drying industries. Due to their special working environment, compared with ordinary centrifugal fans, high-temperature fans have several common failure points.
First, high-temperature fans are prone to vibration. The reason for vibration is mostly that the stress of the impeller is released at high temperatures, resulting in the destruction of balance. To solve this problem, only stress relief is needed after the impeller welding is completed. Both vibration stress relief and heat stress relief are acceptable.
Second, the bearing seat of high-temperature fans is prone to oil leakage. Since the temperature of the hot flue gas conveyed by high-temperature fans is between 350 and 1000 degrees Celsius, the heat reaching the bearing seat through the main shaft and heat radiation is also very large. The rubber seal in the bearing seat faces a more harsh working environment. The rubber sealing ring is coked and loses elasticity and cracks at high temperatures, resulting in oil leakage. This situation often occurs. To solve this problem, only alloy oil seals and high-temperature oil seals are needed.
Third, compared with ordinary centrifugal fans, high-temperature fans are more likely to have accidents of friction between the air inlet and the impeller. The reason for this problem is that the pipeline in front of the fan expands due to heat and pushes the air inlet towards the impeller, which in turn causes friction between the impeller and the air inlet, often making a clanging or screaming sound. To solve this problem, only a metal compensator needs to be installed in front of the high-temperature fan.
Fourth, the working environment of the bearings of high-temperature fans is more harsh than that of ordinary fan bearings. Deep groove ball bearings need to be selected. This bearing is suitable for higher speeds. The oil lubrication effect of the bearing is greater than that of the spherical roller bearing, and it is more suitable for operation in a high-temperature working environment. If the bearing is lack of oil and the bearing frame is damaged, the bearing is prone to seizure.
In conclusion, understanding the common faults and solutions of high-temperature fans is helpful to ensure their stable operation in the heat transfer and drying industries and improve work efficiency.
