What’s the Advantage of Centrifugal Fans Over Others for High Temperatures?

Compared to high temperature and stainless steel fans, centrifugal fans offer several advantages. Centrifugal fans are versatile, suitable for most environments and sales. They also have several key benefits over other types of fans.

Firstly, centrifugal fans are easy to transport due to their lightweight design. This eliminates the hassle of traditional labour intensive machinery transportation in challenging work areas. Secondly, while relatively new compared to some others, they can be converted into various functions like centripetal blowers using different designs, serving as both convectors and unidirectional blowers, a feature not found in many other fans.

Fans play an essential role in ventilation and dust removal across industries such as factories and mines. However, regular maintenance is crucial to ensure efficient operation. How should we clean the bearings of the fan?

Here are some tips:

1. Avoid heating the oil beyond 100°C during hot oil rinsing or immersing the bearing in oil bath to prevent hardening of the bearing steel.

2. Do not rotate the bearing too quickly initially to avoid damage from foreign impurities on the rolling surface.

3. Use clean cloth instead of cotton yarn to wipe the bearing to prevent thread getting inside.

4. After cleaning, do not touch the bearing with bare hands as even small amounts of sweat can cause rust. It’s better to wear gloves or wrap it in clean white paper before handling.

5. If the cleaned bearing isn’t used immediately, cover the shaft with oil paper until needed.

The smooth functioning of the fan depends on the bearings, so proper care must be taken when cleaning them to avoid damaging the equipment and affecting its efficiency. The oil temperature should also meet the requirements.

In general, in industrial settings, where dust removal and ventilation systems are necessary, centrifugal fans are indispensable. During the layout process, the power of the selected centrifugal fan should match the ventilation needs of the entire plant, and it should fit seamlessly into the overall dust removal and ventilation system. This ensures the smooth running of the entire system, creating a clean and comfortable environment for the factory’s mechanical equipment operations.
